This past weekend senior Jacob Dunstan made his way through the district wrestling tournament and will be wrestling at the State meet down in Columbus. The State wrestling meet will begin on Thursday March 7th.
At the District meet, Dunstan started off hot by pinning Burk (EANO) in the third period (5:10). He then took a forfeit against Turner (TSJJ). Coming in Saturday, Dunstan took a win by major decision against Favazzo (MAYF). Advancing to the consolation quarter finals, he took on Maville (ORCL) and won by decision, 8-5, to put him one match away from claiming a spot in the state tournament. That victory set up a sectional rematch between Dunstan and Anderson from Midview in the consolation semifinal. Dunstan avenged his sectional loss by defeating Anderson by decision, 3-2.
Dunstan dropped his finals match on a late take down to Haskin (WHIT), 3-1, to take 4th place.
